Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving but aren’t quite ready to commit to a full certification course, SSI Basic Diver is exactly what you’re looking for. This is SSI’s official introductory experience — designed for total beginners, no prior experience needed, and perfectly suited for your day out in Tenerife.
It’s not a full certification, but you learn all the core steps and skills used by certified divers. Everything you complete here is recorded and fully credited should you choose to continue your training later. You can join us right here, from our local beaches, in safe, calm waters teeming with marine life.
To take part: you must be at least 10 years old, in reasonable physical health, and ready for an unforgettable adventure.

What You Will Learn
Under the direct, personal supervision of a qualified SSI Professional, you will learn all the basic safety rules, equipment use, and fundamental skills you will use on every dive. We start gently in shallow water to build your confidence, then take you out to explore the real ocean environment — all at your pace, no pressure, exactly how SSI designs it.
You will:
- Get fully familiar with all your scuba equipment and discover how easy and natural it feels to move and glide underwater
- Experience the magic of breathing underwater for the very first time
- Master 3 simple, essential skills that keep you safe and comfortable
- Enjoy plenty of time to swim, look around, and simply have fun exploring
- Learn how you can continue your journey and earn your full SSI Open Water Diver or SSI Scuba Diver certification — with all your progress already counted toward your next level

On The Day – Your Experience With Us
08:30 – 08:45 – Pick-up
We collect you and bring you straight to our dive centre. Here we will help you try on and fit all your equipment perfectly, and take care of the simple official paperwork — including SSI’s standard medical statement and release forms, clear and straightforward.
Travel to the dive site
We drive about 20 minutes to one of our beautiful, sheltered sandy bays — calm, clear, and rich with marine life.
Briefing & First Dive
At the beach, we give you a full, easy-to-follow briefing covering safety, signals, and what to expect. We then enter the water together: first, we practise three very basic skills in shallow, safe water. Once you feel completely comfortable, we take you on your first guided dive around the vibrant local reef — home to hundreds of fish and amazing sea life — to a maximum depth of 6 metres, accompanied at all times by your SSI Instructor and Divemaster.
TWO DIVE PACKAGE – Official SSI Basic Diver Program
This is our full SSI Basic Diver experience — 2 guided dives, exactly as SSI specifies.
After your first dive and a short surface break to rest and relax, we head back in for your second dive. On this dive, you go deeper — up to 12 metres — where you have the chance to encounter some of Tenerife’s most incredible marine life:
- Stingrays
- Octopus
- Angel Sharks (completely harmless and very special to see)
- Green Turtles
- Plus countless colourful fish, corals, and fascinating reef creatures
This is the complete experience: two dives, all skills, full exploration, and your official SSI record — the perfect way to discover diving properly.
